Our group strongly condemns the irresponsible attitude of the major elected Jura tirelessly defending the proposed southern branch of the Rhine-Rhone.
While this project does not satisfy anybody, including most of the actors pro-HSL, and it raises an increasingly growing popular opposition, these officials persevere in error by holding an argument devoid of foundation. No reliable evidence does demonstrate the link between the construction of a new LGV and economic development of a territory. On the south branch, no study has demonstrated profitability and utilities. Quite the contrary: all analysis, all reports, all studies highlight the exorbitant cost of this branch over his lack of technical performance (incompetence at high speed), its socio-economic assessment disastrous (low projected attendance) and its devastating environmental impact. The station itself does not. Priority is then given to TER.
The Jura is deluding himself by claiming its stations beets, hypnotized by the mirage of economic growth in the packaging sold RFF.
a time when our departments and our regions are experiencing severe budget cuts, how can we still claim the uselessness ruinous infrastructure already demonstrated? This is driving a rear-guard and is pursuing a headlong rush indecent when we know that the investment would weigh forty or fifty years on local taxes for people in affected areas. Because it would be up to them to pay the alleged European association.
It is time for reason to prevail on outbidding politicians.
